Septic Solutions LLC, a family-owned septic services company, announced today the official expansion of its service coverage into Whatcom County, Washington. The expansion includes Bellingham, Lynden, Ferndale, Blaine, Everson, and surrounding rural communities, further strengthening the company's regional presence across Western Washington.
The move reflects increasing demand for licensed septic services near county borders and the company's commitment to expanding access while maintaining strict regulatory compliance.
'We found that the border between counties is a lot closer than you realize,' said Art Nikolin, General Manager of Septic Solutions LLC. 'Our trucks were already traveling through Whatcom County while serving Skagit County and dumping in Bellingham. Anytime our trucks start showing up in an area, homeowners begin calling. I don't like being in a position where I have to tell customers no. If there's something I can do to provide service legally and properly, I'll do everything in my power to make that happen.'
The expansion follows the same structured growth model Septic Solutions has used across Island, King, Skagit, and Snohomish Counties, prioritizing proper licensing, manufacturer certifications for proprietary systems, and full compliance with Washington State and local health department regulations.
'You won't be able to operate legally without the license,' Art Nikolin said. 'There are operators who don't follow that, but that's not how we do things. If we encounter systems that require additional certification, we stop and get licensed properly before servicing them.'
While Washington State septic code provides the overarching regulatory framework, each county often has distinct patterns in the types of proprietary systems commonly installed. Understanding those regional differences was a key consideration before expanding into Whatcom County.
'You'll see certain systems more common in certain counties,' Art explained. 'That comes down to where manufacturers are located and which systems became popular in certain regions. Knowing that matters when you're servicing them.'
Operationally, the expansion required route adjustments and logistical planning to maintain response times while covering larger geographic areas. Fleet optimization and strategic coordination of dumping made the transition feasible without compromising service standards.
From a homeowner's perspective, the expansion addresses two primary needs: access and education.
'Homeowners need knowledge,' Art said. 'They need to understand their systems better so they can be more responsible. And they need to see improvements in service standards. There's responsibility and pride in protecting a community's infrastructure and public health. When we take that seriously, homeowners take their systems seriously too.'
Septic Solutions LLC now provides septic pumping, inspections, maintenance, and related services throughout Whatcom County, subject to appropriate licensing for specific proprietary systems. The expansion removes service limitations for properties located near county lines and aligns with the company's broader goal of serving as a reliable infrastructure partner throughout Northwest Washington.
Founded in January 2025 and backed by more than eight years of septic industry experience, Septic Solutions LLC continues to modernize septic service delivery by combining technical expertise, regulatory awareness, and community-focused education. The expansion into Whatcom County represents the company's continued commitment to responsible growth, environmental stewardship, and consistent operational standards.
